Can it remember meals you rejected? The surprise me option would be more useful if it stopped suggesting the same thing after you said no a few times.
Keeping checkout on Chowdeck's own payment page makes the approval boundary clear. When the prompt is 'I have ₦10k, surprise me', does the budget include delivery and service fees, or just the food? It would be useful for the assistant to show the final total before handing over the payment link, especially if fees change after the cart is built.
This is such a fun way to explore what AI can actually do with everyday decisions. The idea of letting an AI decide what to eat sounds simple at first, but it opens up some interesting questions around preferences, randomness, and how much decision-making we really want to hand over to a model.
I also like projects like this because they make AI feel less abstract. Instead of another theoretical use case, it’s something relatable that can be tested and improved in a very practical way. And honestly, if it can solve the “what should I eat today?” problem, that’s already pretty useful. 😄

Getting Item 7 shawarma to the door without opening the Chowdeck app once is a fun end to end test. Since ChowBot rides the private API their app uses, I'd worry about a field quietly changing on their side. Do you have a check that fails loudly when a response shape drifts, or would the first sign be a wrong cart?
