Hospital wayfinding is an interesting space because the real challenge isn't simply getting someone from point A to point B. Large hospitals have multiple buildings, floors, departments and access restrictions. Even a well-designed navigation system needs to account for how unfamiliar visitors interpret directions. I think one of the biggest opportunities is making indoor navigation easier to deploy and maintain without creating additional infrastructure burdens for hospitals.

Interesting approach to automated map testing. We've recently been exploring MapLibre and GeoJSON for indoor navigation applications, particularly multi-floor buildings. One challenge I find interesting is how to validate that the correct floor plan, route and destination are displayed when the positioning system detects a floor transition. Have you experimented with automated testing of multi-layer indoor maps, or primarily outdoor mapping applications? Cheers, Simon

Interesting article, and a great use case for indoor navigation. Hospitals can be confusing places to navigate, particularly when dealing with multiple buildings and floors. I've been spending quite a bit of time exploring indoor positioning technology and testing navigation in multi-level buildings here in Vietnam. It's fascinating how many challenges appear once you start testing in real environments. Out of curiosity, what has been your biggest challenge with indoor positioning in hospitals? I'd imagine floor transitions and navigating between different buildings must create some interesting problems. Nice work on the project!
