Good luck with it! A tip for an idle game on Spring + MySQL: don't run a timer per player. Store a last_updated timestamp and compute progress lazily when the player loads or acts (elapsed time × rate, capped). It scales much better and makes offline progress free. I've run a Java game server (SnowRSPS) for years, and anything ticking per player on the DB was always the first bottleneck. Looking forward to the next devlog.
