Good breakdown, especially the DPP angle - most PIM comparisons still treat it as a future problem instead of a 2026 one. From implementation work across a few of these: the real cost difference between Akeneo CE and something like UnoPIM/AtroPIM isn't licensing, it's how much custom dev you end up doing to bolt on the compliance/localization pieces German catalogs actually need. Self-hosting on EU infra solves the residency question on paper, but teams still underestimate the ops overhead of running that themselves long-term. On the DPP question specifically: it's started showing up in client conversations this year, mostly from textile and electronics sellers asking "do we need this yet." Answer is usually "not this year, but plan the data model now so it's not a rebuild later."
