Good point that the display is dumb and the always-on machine does the drawing. One caveat for anyone copying this: if the stock firmware writes each uploaded image to flash, refreshing every few seconds for months could wear it out, so the 30 to 60 second interval you suggest is sensible. Does anyone know whether the photo viewer keeps the image in RAM or flash?
