Chats about indie SaaS, SEO for React SPAs, and resume/ATS tech
Leaving the numbers in is what makes this useful. "A thread with twenty readers doesn't have many to lend" is a great way to put it. As a solo founder doing build-in-public across a few platforms, I've been treating every reply as the same effort, and this is a good reason not to. Checking a post's view count before replying is such a simple filter. Did the ranked threads beat the 1–2 view baseline on day two?
"What does the workaround cost?" is the question I'd put first. When I built ResumeOrbitz, the problem came from my own job switch: resume sites let you write for free, then charge you at Download. The workaround (paying, or rebuilding the resume in a doc) had a clear cost, which made the problem easy to believe in. Does Problem Filter weigh a founder's own experience differently from evidence gathered from other users?
That's a smart way to frame it. A middle ground I like: if a formatting trap is found, show it first since it can make every other check meaningless. If there isn't one, lead with keywords because that's the quickest win. Worth testing both orders once there's enough traffic to compare. Thanks for pushing on this!
Thanks Praneet! It's still early, so I don't have enough users for a clean pattern yet. My bet is keyword match, because it's the most obvious to act on: you see the missing word, you add it. The irony is that formatting traps usually matter more, since a two-column layout can scramble the whole parse, but they feel less urgent than a missing keyword. Going to watch which one people actually fix first and maybe write it up once I have real numbers.
